Gefen has just rolled out its Wireless HDMI Extender that enables users to enjoy cable-free High Definition extension within a 30 foot radius, as long as it remains within a line-of-sight. Guess this means you can’t really place it anywhere you like, as the best area to mount it would be on your ceiling. This add-on offers users with a couple of HDMI inputs as well as a solitary component HD video input that can be shared using UWB wireless, letting up to a trio of HD signals sent to a single location with the addition of 5.1 Dolby surround sound for added effect. Supported resolutions range from the standard 480i to 1080p, and is able to accept input from Blu-ray players, HD DVD players (if you have any, that is), game consoles and even set top boxes. Gefen has slapped a $1,000 price point on this puppy – any takers?
