If you’ve downloaded the latest version of Google Maps Mobile, chances are you have already discovered the new Latitude feature that enables one to share his/her GPS location with others on their cell phone, in addition to through the iGoogle widget platform on a desktop. Latitude will be linked closely with Google Talk and e-mail applications, allowing you to connect with people after seeing them on the map. We can just imagine some suspicious spouses setting their other half’s handset’s settings correctly so that they can have a better idea on whether the common excuse “Honey, I’m working late tonight at the office” holds any water or not. Of course, this has to be allowed from the owner of the handset since it follows an opt-in procedure.
