Usually, a powerful gaming machine contains the most powerful CPU and the best possible GPU setup. Until now, this combination was hard to get because multi-GPU via SLI was not available on the X58 chipset. Intel is now licensing NVIDIA’s multi-GPU technology (SLI) and we can expect to soon see motherboards supporting Core i7 processors with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards.
Pairing the fastest components is important because while the GPU performs the rendering, the CPU is working to keep the GPU fed with updated game data.
