
[Mobile World Congress] Who would’ve thought that motion detecting SIM cards would be a reality? Is the Nintendo Wii really that influential until various devices decided to include such technology? We will never know, but this we know for sure – Oberthur Technologies has rolled out the first motion detecting and handset-independent SIM card in the world known as SIMSense. Guess accelerometers in phones are now obsolete, and it will be interesting to see how cell phone manufacturers accommodate this new SIM card into their operating system by taking advantage of the motion detection capability.
