Mousetraps might look pretty cruel, but those critters have it coming by bringing plagues upon mankind for countless times in the past. Instead of using a regular mousetrap, would you settle for the Mousetrap table instead? The whole concept would be boring a hole in one of the table’s legs, and when the mouse enters, a sensor will be triggered to shut the door behind. This will force the critter to venture forth into the compartment at the center, and once inside, it will be broken down by a microbial fuel cell which will use the energy generated to help trap the next victim, ad infinitum. Definitely a great way to stop guests from dropping by or staying too long in the future if you place this in the living room. Hopefully the decomposition process will be a swift one, otherwise you might find your home ending up in a stink.
