Goodbye Palm OS, we will miss you. Palm CEO Ed Colligan has just announced the death of the much loved Palm OS, as the new Palm Pre and its Web OS will be the next big thing to be supported. Colligan iterated that there won’t be any more new Palm-powered smartphones that will run on the Palm OS, as they have thrown their weight behind the Web OS and Windows Mobile platforms. Needless to say, Palm will still offer some support for Palm OS in the nearby future, although it will be removed from the product development cycle to further hasten its death. It is about time for such closure we think, and look forward to the Web OS.
