SanDisk and Toshiba have come together to work on a new “3D” memory technology, and they will come in the form of the X3 and X4 flash format. The latter was acquired by SanDisk when they picked up Msystems in 2006, and will be applied when it comes to developing 64GB CompactFlash memory cards that will be out sometime in the first half of this year. As for the 32nm X3 MLC NAND, it look set to forge ahead at full steam, which translates to superior SDHC and microSD memory cards down the road.
