Silicon Power has just announced their new 256GB 2.5″ SATA II SSD which doubles up on its previous effort of 128GB. Apart from the extra space, virtually everything remains the same including a maximum read speed of 165 MB/s and a write speed of 95MB/s. Silicon Power also touts their SSD to offer low latency of 0.2 milliseconds, coupled with a new controller for speedy data access. As usual, the other standard SSD “features” apply such as being drop, bump and shake-resistant. Too bad there is no word on pricing or a release date, but it should remain within the price range of other similar SSDs that are on sale currently.
