Shortly after the Blackberry Bold went on sale in Japan, DoCoMo had to pull it off the shelves after being alerted by early adopters of a possible overheating problem. Of the 4000 units that were sold, DoCoMo has been notified of about 30 complaints regarding such issues. While this might not seem like much (that’s bad enough for these customers though), DoCoMo has taken the cautious approach and halted the sale, pending an investigation from Blackberry . Service is everything in Japan, after all. At the moment, Blackberry has been able to rule the battery out (meaning that phones should not explode) and says that this issue is limited to Japanese Bold phones.
