Suima Crib Does The Babysitting For You

New parents do need some “together” time without baby around, so what are you supposed to do when your parents-in-law are out of town and there are no babysitters around for that particular night? If you’re Japanese, you can always pick up the Suima crib. Specially designed by the boffins at Kyuushuu University in Japan, the Suima crib will rock your baby to sleep if he/she wakes up bawling, thanks to a microphone that senses baby’s distess call. It will sway from side to side every 1.8 seconds, which is somewhat similar to a relaxed parent’s heartbeat, and aims to send baby back to sleep in the shortest time possible. You can rent this crib for $100 a month, while bringing one home will cost you an outright $4,500 and $5,500. We’ll wait for the version that changes diapers before getting one…
