Want to secure data on your netbook? UPEK is here to help with their new range of fingerprint identification devices for both netbooks and Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). Not only does UPEK offer hardware solutions, it also does software that enables users to stash their passwords and login information for web services safely, and all of these are accessible at the swipe of a finger. The UPEK Fingerprint Suite Starter targets low cost ultraportables and will be out this March with initial support being limited to just Windows XP although there is a Linux version that will be released later this year. UPEK also reassures us that they will support Windows 7 Starter Edition in the near future.
