Compatible with Windows XP/Vista and Tiger and above operating systems, the Star Trek Communicator comes with an independent USB sound controller complete with speakerphone and microphone, allowing audio to be routed to and from it at will. Other features include volume control and mute function (with indicator), and a velcro backing for easy wall mounting. At least the manufacturer has decided to include a variety of Trek-inspired sound bytes including “Transporter room ready to beam up.
