Vudu users can now buy movies that will be downloaded and stored in the video-on-demand (VOD) box. At the moment, 50 HD titles will be available for download, including “Man on Wire”. More movies will be added as Vudu negotiates the rights with media companies.
The news is interesting, but we don’t really feel excited, mainly because we can’t move the movies to a local network attached storage (NAS), or play them on another device. What about you? How would you like to use digital movie files that you buy online?
