Western Digital has rolled out their latest My Book World Edition NAS server, a plug-and-play network storage solution that will be most welcome by novice home users. This updated version boasts easy installation as well as automatic continuous backup, and will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, making them perfect for folks who are running multiple computers on a home network. It plays nice with both PC and Mac platforms, and will utilize Western Digital’s green hard drive in order to reduce power consumption. Of course, the improvements don’t stop there as the new My Book Word Edition features a higher performance rate compared to its predecessor, accompanied by a bunch of network features, including the ability to share a digital media library. The 1TB and 2TB versions will retail for $229.99 and $449.99, respectively, as it is available later this month.
