Zero X Electric Dirt Bike

The 2009 Zero X is touted to be the fastest electric dirt bike to date, and despite being the speed devil that it is, it is still environmentally friendly while whizzing around the circuit. Powered by a lithium ion battery, this 151 pounds dirt bike is able to churn out 23 HP with 50 lb-ft of torque, capable of touching 30mph from a standing start in under two seconds. That roughly equals to performance found on a 250cc two-stroke bike minus the plumes of smoke. What makes it more amazing is the use of thin-walled aluminum to build it, hence the extreme lightweight chassis that can be picked up easily. You will have to pay for such performance and technology though, as the Zero X will retail for $7,750 if you reside in the US while folks living across the pond will have to fork out another $700 for airmal shipping.
