Asus Fold Unfold Concept Gets Realized

When we first caught whiff of Asus’ Fold/Unfold concept notebooks at CES earlier this year, we were pretty impressed but left wondering how all the technology is going to fit into such an unorthodox form factor. It seems that word from Asus CEO Jerry Shen has confirmed the commercial release of the Fold/Unfold concept sometime in September or October this year, retailing for anywhere between $1,000 to $1,500. The Fold/Unfold range will feature a keyboard that actually slides backwards whenever the display is opened so that room can be maximized to store keys, a trackpad and a palm rest. Hopefully the mechanisms hold up well over the years as we’d hate paying so much for something that fragile.
