One of the gripes that users of netbooks have would be a missing optical disc drive (ODD), but folks who have held their ground this far and are targeting a purchase sometime later this year will be delighted to know that Asus’ upcoming Eee PC, the E1004DN, will be the first from the Eee PC line to feature an ODD. It will be released sometime in the middle of next month onwards, with the 1008HA taking a similar route a month later. The E1004DN will feature the latest Intel Atom N280 processor alongside an Intel GN40 chipset and a 120GB hard drive. Expect to fork out somewhere around $531 to $590 for this, and be prepared for it to look much bulkier as well.
