Asus Unveils U/UX Series

Asus goes for thin with their recently announced U and UX series of ultra slim notebooks that will apparently roll off production lines sometime in the second quarter of this year. Both models will adopt a chiclet-style keyboard (do you prefer that design over a standard one?) and auto-adjusting LED backlit display for optimal viewing. The U series will come with a 15.6″ glossy LCD display as well as a touchpad which ups the ante with an attractive feature – it uses progressively fading lights to follow your fingertips. Inside the chassis you will find an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a NVIDIA GeForce G105M graphics card, up to 500GB of hard drive space and Altec Lansing speakers with SRS true surround sound. Information of the UX is pretty scarce, so all we’ve got is it comes with a slot-in optical disc drive.
