Automotive supplier Denso Corporation has managed to come up with an electronic cat-faced ring which allows the ordinary human hand to function as a remote control, where the wearer is able to operate devices simply by pressing one’s fingers together. The ring is known as “Yubi-nya” – a play on the Japanese words for “ring” (yubiwa) and “meow” (nya), and a recent demonstration showed it to remotely open and close doors of a normal car simply by pressing their index finger and thumb together. Guess it might fool those who are not in the loop into thinking that you have telekinetic powers until they catch on. Amazing how all the components which are able to perform this apparent miracle are crammed into a 2cm thick device that looks like calico cat head. Expect the final product to be smaller and more discreet.
