Just when you thought that netbooks were already dirt cheap, along comes Fidelity and their new extremely cheap netbook – the Fidelity Netbook VPC which retails for just $199. Tipping the scales at a mere 1.5lb, the VPC (Very Personal Computer) will feature the standard, including a Wi-Fi connection, USB and Ethernet ports, an SD memory card reader, a 7″ TFT LCD display at 800 x 480 resolution, 2GB of internal memory (say what?) and a measly 100MHz processor. Needless to say, Linux is the operating system of choice here and you will have pre-loaded programs included to get you started right out of the box. The Fidelity Netbook VPC will be out sometime this March.
