Could Google enter yet another segment of the hardware business by coming up with a Google netbook? It all depends on how you read Google’s CEO Erick Schmidt’s statement which went like this, “What’s particularly interesting about netbooks is the price point. Eventually, it will make sense for operators and so forth to subsidize the use of netbooks so they can make services revenue and advertising revenue on the consumption. That’s another new model that’s coming.” A Google netbook, hmm? We’d like that to come with built-in 3G connectivity, allowing us to access our Google Docs files no matter where we are in a flash – that’d go some way in freeing up disk space for other applications.
