After all, if each drive is able to save a tiny amount of power consumption, imagine what might happen inside a typical data center – it could result in power savings of up to hundreds of thousands of dollars! The new 2.5″ Ultrastar C10K300 will come in varying capacities of 147GB to 300GB, offering outstanding performance without having to sacrifice trees in the process of powering it. It sips just 3.4 watts of power in idle mode, and 6.1 watts in full seek mode.
