HP Announces New Z Series PCs

HP recently announced a trio of new Z Series workstation PCs – the Z800, Z600 and Z400. All of them will be powered by Intel’s Nehalem-era Xeon processors and do not need any tool whatsoever to access and service all of their components. The modular interior design is sans cables, while the exterior has benefitted from ideas courtesy of BMW Group Designworks USA to add that added touch of appeal. The high end Z800 is able to hold a whopping 192GB of DDR3 RAM alongside a couple of Intel Xeon processors with the quad-core W5580 3.2GHz being the cream of the cake. Storage space is maxed out at 7.5TB, while you get support for NVIDIA’s SLI technology. Up next is the mid-range Z600 that share roughly the same specifications save for much less RAM at 24GB and maximum storage of 4.5TB. Last but not least is the Z400 that maxes out at 16GB RAM and can hold up to 6TB of storage space. Mark April 6th on your calendars as that is when the Z800, Z600 and Z400 will begin to ship from $1,999, $1,679 and $969 upwards.
