Intel Readies Centrino Montevina Plus

Word has it that Intel is currently preparing to release an updated version of the existing Montevina laptop platform conveniently known as Montevina Plus. This new platform is tipped to make its way to the mass market sometime in the second quarter of the year, and among them include Penryn-based processors which are able to touch the 3GHz and above speed reading while offering more high definition multimedia capabilities to keep you entertained in your home. All that power might mean a bigger hole in your pocket when the monthly electricity bill arrives, right? Apparently not, as Intel is working on the Montevina Plus to include new ultra-low-voltage chips so that notebooks using these processors will have a minimal impact on power usage despite offering some high-powered performance.
