
Just to see how much an impact the iPhone has in the US, this smartphone contributes up to 49.5% of all smartphone traffic there, followed by the BlackBerry 8300 Curve at a mere 9.1% of the total traffic share. This piece of news gels with word of the iPhone OS comprising 50% of the US operating system share which has increased by 40% since August last year. BlackBerry OS again plays bridesmaid to the iPhone OS at 21% while Microsoft’s Windows Mobile languishes in third position at 13%. As for Android, the OS that holds so much promise without realizing it yet has a mere 5% of the market share.
