DJs are often seen as a different music master compared to refined musicians, and that means they too, ought to have their own brand of cell phones to brandish. The KRE8 handset by designer Jose Tomas DeLuna is a concept cell phone that comes equipped with a bunch of musically-enhanced features. First of all, the KRE8 will split into two, utilizing sensors and accelerometers that are able to interpret the gestures you make. There are three modes to choose from – Instrument Mode (guitar, drums, violin), Mix Mode and Record Mode, and using the gesture inputs, the system will automatically slips into any one of the Instrument Modes and follows your jam. All output will be recorded in MIDI format and can then be shared with your contacts over a 3G connection. As with any other handset worth its salt these days, the KRE8 is equipped with a glass touchscreen for navigational purposes. We wish this would be waterproof too – you never know when you might spill that jug of Heineken over!
