Mac Mini Receives Overhaul

Guess rumors have evolved into fact yet again today as Apple unveils their new Mac Mini which is long overdue for a refresh after chugging along to specifications which hail from August 2007 onwards. The new Mac Mini will feature improved default configurations without any changes to the price, where the low-end and step-up versions will retail for $599 and $799, respectively. The former will be powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz processor, 1GB RAM and a more spacious 120GB hard drive. As for the $799 model, it will have a similar RAM count at 2GB as well as the Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz processor, but the hard drive total is bumped up to 320GB. Both models will run on Nvidia’s MCP79 chipset (just like we suspected in January) that helps make it more palatable where video and photo editing functions are required.
