Mitsubishi 3D Touchscreen Knows Where Your Finger Is

Mitsubishi has come up with a 3D touchscreen display that is able to not only track where your finger is, but the depth as well – all done with a single panel without the need for additional cameras or sensors while maintaining a high level of precision – from 0.08mm to 20mm, to be exact. In addition, it is able to guess the approach speed pretty accurately, making this technology useful for mobile devices that opens up a whole new world of interaction option known as hovering. No idea on which company will adopt such a touchscreen display in the market first, but we think that there is plenty of potential here to be exploited, not at the very least the gaming department.
