Apple is offering something a little bit different in the wireless router market with their new Airport Extreme, where its dual-band Wi-Fi radios allow the device to work in 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously. It is also able to support up to half a century of users simultaneously, and does so while setting up separate limited-access networks for guests to restrict access as and when the situation calls for it. Sounds as though the $179 pricetag on the new Airport Extreme isn’t justified though, as that is nearly two Benjamins one would have to fork out to take advantage of having two networks run simutlaneously. In other news, the refreshed Time Capsule will retail for $299 and $499 in capacities of 500GB and 1TB, respectively.
