New SKUs (Stock Keeping Unit), or “models” of the iPhone just showed up in a configuration file (“code” as some would say…). That would hint that multiple hardware refresh of the iPhone and the iPod Touch are on the way. That was to be expected as the next iPhone “cycle” should start in June. Here are the new device IDs:
- iPhone2,1 – 0×1294
- iProd0,1 – 0×1295
- iPod2,2 – 0×1296
- iPhone3,1 – 0×1297
- iFPGA – 0×1298
- iPod3,1 – 0×1299?
Expect that kind of information to pop in future updates. Now, we just wonder what will be the extent of the hardware changes. Some mention a better camera (5MP), while others dream about an AMOLED display. As always, nothing is certain before it’s official… What do you want in the next iPhone hardware? [via Uberphones]
