
Principal Steve Gray of Vancouver-Island Port Hardy Secondary School decided he’s had enough of his 343 students using their cell phones in school, taking the law into his own hands by purchasing a jamming device from China in order to block their calls. This $115 device has already caused an outrage at the school, where 90 brats – er, we mean students, decided to skip classes while starting a protest. They have a point however, as using a tool like this is illegal in Canada under Sections 4 and 9 of Canada’s Radiocommunication Act, but students should know better that schools are a place to learn and not start protesting – that only comes in when you join a union.
