A netbook is no powerhouse for anything more intensive than casual computing use, but then again they are no slouch when it comes to functioning as a robot’s brain. That’s what the manufacturers of RoBe:Do think anyways, revealing a couple of their software-ready autonomous robots that are able to be delivered in a fully-assembled package, waiting for your netbook (Eee PC or MSI Wind or an equivalent) to be placed as its crowning glory in order to take control of things. Both Coppa and Silvio are able to carry out its own mechanics and comes with a 12V rechargeable battery, autofocus webcam and sonar system, and netbook “brain”,. Of course, it also boasts a bunch of accessories such as motion, heat and humidity sensors, servo-driven grabbing actuators and a whole lot of other stuff you can think of. RoBe:Do Coppa and Silvio will retail for $1,649 and $1,449, respectively.
