Robotic Gardeners Tend To Tomato Plants

The boffins at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory have managed to release robots that are smart enough to tend to tomato plants without the need for any human intervention. These plants come with soil sensors, and are able to network with robots whenever they have a need for water or nutrients. These robots come with watering pumps and robotic arms that won’t squash your cherry tomatoes when it needs to pick the ripe ones. This group of researchers “hope to develop a fully autonomous greenhouse, complete with robots, pots and plants connected via computation, sensing and communication.”
