A Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 with 2GB is better than a 1GB, right? Well, not when it comes to gaming performance, or at least, not “yet”. The reason is that game developers tend to build games for 512MB, or may be 768MB cards.
Therefore, there are little ways to use the extra RAM. You might bump the resolution, use higher AA or even set all the shadow maps of your games to a larger size, but in the end, it’s unlikely that you’ll use the 2GB of memory, but if it makes you feel good, go for it. [via fudzilla]
