
Sony is not giving up the good fight against pollution in our environment, and is still working on a bio battery that gets juiced up using glucose instead of methanol. According to Sony, the battery is safe to use despite being high energy density, and best of all is, it won’t harm the environment. Imagine using a bottle of Coke to recharge batteries in the future – this could lead to the death of portable chargers, although we would still prefer solar-powered chargers as you can’t really find a bottle of Coke everywhere, but the sun – that you can’t escape from (for most parts of the world anyways). Interestingly enough, energy generated by the glucose found in a single bowl of rice is equivalent to that of 96 AA batteries. Now if only Sony can find a way to reduce the size…
