This Via IVP-7500 Motherboard Could Be In Your Next Car

Via is coming up with a PC hardware platform for in-vehicle integration. It can control a host of things, including ‘sensors’ like the digital tachograph and odometer, but also GPS functions and navigation. Via says that it is much easier to build this around a “PC” platform rather than using a custom-made motherboard, and they’re right. It is much easier to develop and manufacturers know that the next-generation platform will be backwards-compatible, smaller and cheaper. This version measures 114 x 185.5mm and it is up to each car maker to choose an operating system.
