TouchDown Push Email For Android

Android-powered handset owners will now be able to take advantage of the power of push email (office drones might groan at the thought) thanks to TouchDown, an email application for Android. Currently, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support is being worked in, allowing one to receive push email on the T-Mobile G1. This feature is currently in beta mode, but the next upgrade release ought to allow customers to download it for free. Some of the functions include :-

  • Compose and send Email
  • Reply to, Reply All and Forward your email
  • Delete Email messages
  • Move email between folders (yes, email folders are supported)
  • Add, Delete or Edit existing contacts when you are on the move
  • The changes to your contacts will be automatically updated to your Exchange account
  • View your daily/weekly/monthly calendar
  • Create appointments
  • Appointment notifications
  • Customizable alerts
  • Database on SD Card – saves phone memory

The Android Market will sell TouchDown for $29.99.
