Unlimited plans for voice and data where cell phones are concerned have been around for some time already, but newcomer Zer01 Mobile has just announced such a package for $70 a month sans contract. In addition, Zer01 Mobile touts to have a network as large as AT&T’s, where in reality the service is actually derived from a roaming agreement with a bunch of other providers including AT&T and T-Mobile, albeit relying on its own IP system. At press time, only Windows Mobile-based smartphones will be supported but Zer01 Mobile has plans to welcome Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Java platforms to the party later on. While $70 a month enables unlimited VoIP calls and data, another $10 will snag you international calling to 40 countries. Look out for a closed beta launch sometime next month.
