We know that the US doesn’t have the best broadband deals compared to the rest of the world, but kudos to Cablevision for upping the ante by offering the “fastest home Internet service in the United States” from next month onwards. This new service is capable of hitting 101Mbps and 15Mbps for download and upload speeds respectively for $99.95 monthly. Mark May 11 on your calendars as that is when all 5 million subscribers to Cablevision’s service will be able to upgrade their current plan for this high-speed one. Cablevision will be relying on a new technology known as Docsis 3 that aims to make full use of the capacity of a cable television system for data, hence the stated speeds. Will you make the upgrade or sign up if you live in an area served by Cablevision?
