Dell To Start Smartphone Push In China (Rumor)

Dell has been talking to Chinese operators about its upcoming Android smartphones, that’s according to Zhang Jun, analyst at Wedge MKI, who says that Dell is talking to the largest Chinese operator. Note the language: “talking”. Apple has “talked” to the same operator for a long time, so this sounds very hypothetical right now. However, a success there would be huge for Dell, even if China has its share of Android-based projects.

At the moment, we don’t see what leverage Dell has – especially if it is to release a rebranded (manufactured by someone else) Android handset. Dell has not commented officially on the subject.
