One can never have enough storage space – that’s our mantra anyways, and it is nice to see an outfit like Drobo release the DroboPro, an easy-to-use NAS that is larger and meaner. The most basic configuration will set you back by $1,300, and it will hook up to your network via iSCSI (over an Ethernet cable, of course), FireWire 800 or USB 2.0, and is capable of holding a maximum of 8 3.5″ SATA hard drives for a theoretical maximum of 16TB of storage space. Of course, if hard drive technology advances, expect the 16TB cap to increase accordingly. The DroboPro eats up only square foot of space without ever breaching the 5″ height, making this ideal for apartments and cramped cubicles.
