Huawei EM722 Combo Processor

We see more and more netbooks feature built-in 3G connectivity these days, so it does make sense to have dual-purpose wireless chips in the market that will go some way in clearing up space within an already cramped netbook chassis. Huawei Technologies from China has done just that with its new mobile broadband module that offers both Wi-Fi and HSPA connectivity on a single processor. Known as the Huawei EM722, this chip was specially designed to function with Classmate PCs running on Intel Atom processors, although we’re pretty sure it will also work just fine in other Atom-powered netbooks.
