Husqvarna Automower 260 ACX

The Husqvarna Automower 260 ACX is unique as it enables the mower to actually contact you on your cell phone via SMS should it need some help. Otherwise, it will go about quietly mowing your lawn, spreading the clippings gathered to be used as fertilizer. According to Husqvarna, the new Automower 260 ACX is larger and faster compared to the rest of their offerings, capable of serving lawns of up to 1.5 acres – making this a clear cut case for commercial spaces. A couple of 18V nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries with 6Ah of capacity power the 260 ACX, having it mow down 2,700 square feet within an hour. After exhausting its battery life, it will require 40 minutes of charging at its dock before heading out for another hour of mowing. Integrated lift and tilt sensors will stop the 260 ACX’s operation once it has flipped or is lifted, while ultrasonic sensors help it avoid various obstacles including trees, people and lawn chairs. It won’t come cheap though as the Automower 260 ACX is going for $5,310 in Europe.
