LG Announces HDTV With DivX Support

LG and DivX has broken new ground by offering a new line of digital TVs that are touted to be the first in the world to offer support for full DivX 1080p videos. If you’re interested, just make sure the next LG HDTV you pick up will be from the LH50-, LH70-, LH85-, PS70- and PS80-series. These DivX-certified machines will be able to play DivX HD videos from connected PCs or even over the Internet, as long as there is a relevant device connected to the TV’s USB port. LG will be shipping this new range of TVs Stateside sometime later next month, but Europe will get them a whole month earlier. There is very little word on pricing details, but expect to see a torrent of activity (pun intended) happen for full HD DivX certified files.
