Verizon is getting a lot of hype today. After the rumored new Apple devices for Verizon, the web is now buzzing with a rumor about Microsoft’s phone project codenamed “Pink” that would be a marriage between Windows Mobile and Zune. Of course, Pink is the designation for the software layer, as Microsoft has dispelled several times the Microsoft-branded phone rumor…
The rumor is not very informative: we already know that Microsoft is not “giving up” on mobile phones. It will use Windows Marketplace (its app store) and the new phones will have some form of entertainment capabilities.
Will Pink come to Verizon? Absolutely! But it will also appear in pretty all wireless carrier offerings, just like Windowd Mobile did. The real question is: “Will Verizon have it first?”
