Microsoft Proud Of Windows Monopoly In Netbooks

Microsoft is extremely proud of their achievements in the netbook market, touting that up to 96% of netbooks are powered by Windows XP – an operating system that just refuses to die despite Microsoft ushering in Windows Vista many years back. This is one market segment that Microsoft would do well not to pull the plug on Windows XP, after all, with the current economic climate turning more and more people to the netbook market as they use it for casual web surfing and email purposes, it makes perfect sense to have a stable, proven operating system dominating the market. Take note that Microsoft is scheduled to cancel mainstream support for Windows XP within a week – hopefully this date will be postponed yet again as netbooks capable of running Windows Vista or Windows 7 are still far from being available.
