Motorola sticks to the tried and true clamshell formula with the new MOTOROKR W6 that aims to merge both music as well as a set of fitness-tracking applications. Once all the relevant data (name, age, gender, weight, height) has been keyed in, the W6 will straight away generate a training plan based on that information. There is a timer available that keeps track of the duration of the workout in addition to the theoretical number of calories burned. All this information will then be exported into a Microsoft Excel document where one can track his/her progress over time. Other features that we take for granted in cell phones these days include external dedicated music keys, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, internal memory (20MB), a 1.3 megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot. There is no word on pricing or availability, but we do know Motorola will unleash the W6 in Mexico first.
