Nanao LCD Monitor with Human Presence Sensor

Naneo is adding an infra-red sensor to its monitors to detect a human presence and eventually cut power consumption if no human is detected. It consumes less power in general (18W-25W, depending on models). To provide you with a reference, our Dell 20″ 2001FP consumes 90 Watt. Thesensor candetect a person within 120cm, based on motion. Two display sizes are available: 20″ (1600×1200) and 23″ (1920×1080). While the sensor is interesting, the priceis toohigh: the 20″ goes for $385. We’re pretty sure that a sensor-equipped power strip and a plain 20″ goes for less.
