New PSP Will Not Be A PSP

Confusing, isn’t it? Well, that’s the impression we got concerning the up and coming PSP that is rumored to make an appearance at E3 this year, and it will be nothing like the current PSP-3000 that we’re playing with at the moment. This won’t be a sequel to the gaming device, but will be an entirely new gadget. We’re guessing this is somewhat like how Nintendo marketed their DS Phat back when it first came out as they did not know how it will do in the market, hence naming it as a “third pillar” gaming device that eventually proved to do so well, the GBA line ended there as the DS Lite became the new king of the handheld hill. What do you think Sony is up to – a PSP watch/phone/Walkman?
