Nokia 1100 Used For Online Banking Scam

Apart from Vertu handsets, normally the more desirable a cell phone is, the more expensive its price tag. As for the Nokia 1100, most people would just pooh pooh at this entry level handset without wondering why would anyone fork out up to €25,000 for one. The twisted mind that does so has an ulterior motive – specific Nokia 1100s have shown to reveal a software flaw that can be reprogrammed in a way to intercept one-time passwords that are used to authorize online bank transactions. Only a handful from a specific German manufacturing batch are affected out of over 200 million of these handsets released since 2003.
